In this post we will review the basic difference between Regen Redraw in AutoCAD. The Software AutoCAD is basically a vector program and ideally it stores information about your drawing in terms of absolute / polar coordinates and if necessary in terms of equations. AutoCAD software converts the Vector to Pixel on the GUI there by enabling all information in a simple and easy manner.
In such cases as seen above, there may be occasions when the display may need to re-viewed again to enable better display clarity and in such instances we may need to use Regen or Redraw within the AutoCAD Software via commands
Regen Vs Redraw AutoCAD
Let’s look at when to use Regen and Redraw Commands in AutoCAD
Use Regen command when you want to redisplay the entire drawing. Ideally, the word regen refers to regeneration or regenerate. To regenerate a drawing – type regen in the command prompt
Use Redraw command when you want to refresh the screen. Type redraw in the command prompt in case you want to redraw the content in the GUI of AutoCAD
